Jayda and Jake ready to rock!
Sniffing the tree, and each other!
up we go
Looking at Mt. Currie....zoomed in next shot!
...this is what we were all looking at, the awesome Mt Currie, which overlooks my hometown, and Jakes!
So for me the key to being a good pack leader is to not only give the dogs direction and a fun time, but to watch and listen to them too. We had been climbing for a while with my aim to loop round the Crater Rim trail, however, Jake felt that with it being a sunny day and the fact he is a bog boy with a lot of long hair that it may be nicer if we hiked at lower elevations. He sat down and looked at me, and I sat down and looked at him...then we carried onwards and upwards, so he sat down and looked at me again, then lay on his belly and put his tongue out way further than before...I agreed with him that we could go down, go straight for the lake and save the scrambling for another day! So down we went, and he was much happier - I was pleased I had listened to him, and we mooched along to the lake where he and Jayda wallowed! All of the above was me speaking out loud to him, and him looking back at me...I must have seemed mad but I truly felt we were having the nearest thing possible to a human - canine conversation!
down we go!
ah....much better!
Jayda and Jake spent a while bobbing about in the lake, I did not join them today...it has been known though!
Jake enjoys a post swim shake!
...and then hew and Jayda find some grubby culvert water!
Then it was time to play silly-buggers and rage around together! As ever Jayda was the instigator, and she bowed to Jake before they danced off together...so cute!
A very zoomed in shot...this guy was swinging high up in the tree as the breeze swayed him about. Beautiful. The dogs and I respectfully moved away, and I made sure he knew we were no threat. Bears are a gift to see, and should never be gawked at or purposefully approached!
headin' for home
chill time on the deck
oooh, who is this coming to visit?
Here's Roger! she (yes she) is a super sweet girl, who came to hang out this afternoon while her dad worked an excavator. Jake and I are in the door refection! I hung out while they all sniffed each other and made friends!
ha ha I love this shot!! Jake looks like his ears are devil horns and that he is about to pounce on Roger, who has a slinky appearance anyway...and it looks like she is cowing or trying to sneak by him! In reality she was checking out the deck smells, and Jake had just wandered out to go lay in the sun!
Final shot...Roger and Jake hang out with my shoe...so cute! Jayda is still on the deck sunning herself and I am just finishing this post! Good times, awesome dogs...see y'all tomorrow, arOOOOooooOOOO!
