Billie-Jean and the aforementioned colors of the landscape, she looks like she is raising her left eyebrow and saying '...elementary my dear Watson...' Just need to grab her a pipe & beanie :)
Billie-Jean is improving on a daily basis, I think it is a combination of me getting to know her, and therefore understanding her better, and her getting used to me and the other dogs. She is super smart and has super high energy, we just need to keep her occupied and busy - keep the pack moving on wider trails, minimal stick and exuberant play, and give her a task...her job is to carry the dog pack and it suits her perfectly. She now will sit before entry and exit to the truck, will load up perfectly and is really improving in her manners to me and other dogs - I can now give time to the others and she waits instead of body -slamming me! I am so proud of her, and of all the hard work WAG staff and vollies put into nurturing her - it just goes to show how dogs (and us for that matter) can learn and improve if we just give them a chance!!
I managed to get shots of both dogs rolling around in the snow - I love the way they grunt and snort to themselves!
We spent a happy couple of hours sniffing about and throwing the odd snowball or stick. We gained about 6.5k of travel today just mooching through the snow. It's funny how some days the mood is to climb high and go for more technical hikes, and some days we just want to roll with it. I am not sure if it is my energy that transfers to the dogs, or if I get the vibe from them...I choose hike routes based on numbers and weather...like skiing it's good to know the trail networks well here to pick the best conditions underfoot, and then make a final decision after collecting all the dogs to gauge how we are all feeling. Most of the time I think this is a sub-conscious decision. Either way, if anyone could hear me I would be considered mad, as I chat openly to the dogs about what we are going to do, and ask their opinions! Ever, I am sure answers back too - ha ha!
Heading for home, with Ever leading the way. See ya next week, aroooooo!
