Moseying along to Mountaineering!

I love the daily routine we adopt on these hikes...everyone exits the truck, has a stretch, a roll, and a poop (I pass on the group poop of course...) then we mosey along together...sniffing about, perhaps chewing on a stick and taking in the views:

...then....the energy hits! Muscles are nice and warm, we have gained elevation and can feel the sun through the trees! I quicken my pace, and the dogs just boing into action!! Sometimes this is a gradual thing, but today we all boinged at once! I truly feel we are on the same energy level...as I suddenly laughed out loud for no reason in particular other than being in the mountains with my furry pals, and broke into a run...Skipper just flew around in circles barking, being chased by Ever..and Buddy, who after tearing himself alway from the smell of my treat pouch (new treats today, and they stink!)...did his 'front-legs-splayed-while-I-bark-then-dance-around' act...I didn't even encourage it, we literally got into open snow and wider trees and off we went in unison!

Double-click on the pics to enlarge as the light is not great for some reason and they are so funny -  the second one shows the 'pursuit of the sacred pine-cone' chase, and the first just about captures Bud about to dance...if anyone has a helmet cam please call me...I missed a lot of the action scrabbling for camera and laughing!

Of course after a few minutes order is restored, I call them all in and we sit, chill and then get onto the serious business of getting somewhere...we hiked up through 3 bike trails and the travel is still amazing, we can go anywhere!! And the light in the forest as we reached the Young Lust / CN fork was awesome...I tried to capture it here, but the best way to appreciate it is to just come on out here. So... Beautiful... Love It.

I love Skipper licking his lips in the first shot! The second shot only shows Skip's butt, but the light streaming through the trees is just awesome. Another beautiful hike on a crisp bright morning...yes we all want the pow, but lets love the sun too!

See you all tomorrow! :)
