All That Glitters Is (White) Gold

Another beautiful sunny day...we headed South for a change of scenery today - went up to Loggers and enjoyed a perfect cat road all to ourselves on the way up! Everyone seemed a little tired after yesterday's climb (apart from Billie-Jean who joined us from WAG and who had fresh legs) so we had a 'steady state' kind of day. For anyone that has ever trained in competitive sports you will appreciate these days! -  For me they were always a nice change after the intensity of regular training...for the dogs, in our case they are aimed at steady consistent travel, making a good distance without super steep climbs, and the focus on travelling as a pack together to get from A-B.

Cruising...Billie-Jean from WAG is on the long line - and was our pack dog today, carrying spare gloves, doggy first aid and a water bottle! It's great for her as she needs the workout...she is a great high energy dog, that is improving so well with her manners...and she is up for adoption!! Click on any WAG text to learn more.

I love this photo of Skipper with the frosting on the trees and shrubs behind him glittering in the sunshine...this route is a real 'feelgood' sunshine type of hike :-)

We had a short break at Loggers where everyone had a good sniff, a walk on the ice...and managed to find a running creek to wallow in  - well Bud and Ever dove in, the others were more refined! The shots below show them milling about, then post-treat poses! The best way to get 'dog calendar' style shots is to pull out the camera after a tasty treat - ha ha!

Then we turned for home...we headed through the forests for a short while but the sun was not getting thorugh, so we came back onto the groomer for some easy travel and more vitamin D!

Finally she is tired - yay! Billie Jean chills out a little before we reach the truck. (Click on any image to enlarge it) See you all tomorrow, aroooo!
