3 doggies + 1 me = gooooood times today!

Today was really funny :) Kayla, Bosley, and Julia were the crew, and each are quirky but very cool doggie-do's indeed and today was no exception! Julia is a cat-dog pointy eared very beautiful girl, who flirts enormously with Bosley - who is a huge boy who makes the funniest noises when he yawns and is the most hilarious digger I have ever seen; he kinda moves his head laterally as he digs, with flappy ears and lamb-style jumps of energy. Then Kayla, who normally has a good bark then busies herself with pine cones and sticks was on form today - raging about like a pup, chasing squirrels and playing with Bosley galloping about tail up and big grin on her face. They were so well behaved, even Bos who has a tendency to hang off Ju's jowls! He is learning 'Bosley...LEAVE it' and it works well so far! Julia lays on her back and just asks for it in his defence - and she too was making me laugh out loud today, diving for midges on a pool (yes, they are out already?!) and then digging in thick mud, wallowing about turning her coat brown...gooood times. We all finished up pretty muddy and I had slobber marks all over my pants from Kayla who was being really affectionate...or loving me for the treat pouch, either way she was just cute wiping her chops all over me as we walked with little nudges. She rules. I love them all. Here are some shots!!

starting out with a group sniff

Kayla and Bos have a play-time

stopping for a breather

time to climb some more...

..then investigate the bush for small furry animals!

smiling nicely for treats...

"Puh-leeeeeease gimmie a biscuit...
 ...mmmm, thanks!'"

Then it was time to head into another trail...rain was falling lightly, but not enough to be annoying. It was actually really soft and refreshing - a watery sun poked through at times and it was so peaceful - just us and the wildlife amongst the fresh forests...love it.

Kayla and Bos off for another gallop

then Bos has a funny five minutes of flap-eared digging...

"oh man this is swell..." (Think Vern from 'Stand By Me' movie..!!)

then we paddle...

...explore

...drink

...and finally head for home.

Another sweet day in dog-land. Pictures can never really capture the mood, but I hope they help. The dogs are just so funny, I love to play and roll with them some days or just observe their antics (correcting if need be!) and give bear hugs and doggy kisses at intervals before stepping back and watching the antics as the hike progresses. No matter what the weather, time of year, day of the week - nothing beats a stoked doggy welcome in the morning followed by a great hike and muddy cuddles at the end of the day...aroooooo!

See ya next hike!
