Black and Tan day

Ha! So Kayla and Jackets are the black dogs, and Wicky, Bos-man and Cedar are the tan contingent and we all looked very uniform as we galloped round part of Comfortably Numb as I also had on black pants, shirt, and running shoes and currently have a 'Tropic Thunder' style fake tan (which I think looks awesome!) so we were a great match today! It was a muggy overcast morning, with only snatches of sun and we all head a great time splashing in creeks and galloping through Fireweed, forests, and rocky bluffs...here are the shots:
The crew l-r...Jackets and Cedar, Bosley, Kayla and Wicket!
Started with a good sniff and pee on the world in general...
Then a run, followed by more sniffs and pees! Was a smelly day on the trails I guess :)
Kayla eyeballs a squirrel that yelled at her from it's tree..always cracks me up, the little furry buggers are stoked the dogs can't climb, and frequently remind them of that fact!
Love the moody sky here as Bos and Cedar wait for us slow pokes to catch up!
Into the weed we go...
Ha! this is like one of those Magic Eye pictures; if you stare hard enough you will see the dogs! A small furry (Gopher? Pika?) screamed in terror and ran under it's rock as the hounds approached, I saw it for a flash of a second and they went wild trying to root the poor thing out, I called them off, they all get good dinners...!
I actually think Devil's Club is quite beautiful...just not nice to touch! We had galloped on for a while as heard signs of human life behind us, and although we are all social and friendly beings, the hike time is our quality time alone as a pack...so adios other dudes, were were outta there!
Snow in summer? Nope...Cotton woods for some reason piling up only under these trees...bizarre! We were mid gallop but I thought it looked cool...
Climbing up time!
Splashing in the creek time! Bos and Jackets get refreshed
Kayla cools off...she is always first one in last one out of the water!
Cheeeeeese! Cedar and I strike a pose then we all galloped off. We danced about at our higher elevation but low cloud hampered any look-outs, so that was pretty much it for today's shots as the remainder of the hike was galloping down to the truck...weeeeeee!! Another amazing day in dog-land....see you next hike, AroooOOOOooooOOooo!
