Brrrrrrr!

Wow - super cold with a watery sun today...but still great once we all got moving! Buddy was only out for half an hour today though as he seemed to suddenly get a little tender on his hind leg...I am thinking after examining him and talking to his mom that he just tweaked a muscle early on due to the cold. We always warm up before galloping around but perhaps he just pulled something in the forests as we started out...I know I took ages to get warm today, and I normally 'beetroot' face up after ten minutes! So we carefully made our way back to the truck, I took Bud home and had another look at him; he was blissfully oblivious and kept giving me cuddles and licks bless him as I was poking around with his rear leg and paw! I took care of him, then the others and I went for a second hike around Green Lake and into the Lost lake distant trails....there was barely any snow so we had a great time winding through the forests, then a super chilly walk along the lake back to the truck! Will keep you posted about Bud's paw, or leg...I am sure he is fine but I always err on the side of caution...our furry friends are just too important to me to risk sore muscles!!

Skipper leads the way with Bud and Ever close behind.

Ever checks out the ice...so beautiful I kept snapping away even after the dogs had passed it!

Then it was off for the second half of our day...Ever and Skip sniffing around on the way back to the truck. The ground was frozen solid! I had to keep the camera and phone next to my body heat for them to function...sometimes I wish us humans were furry, it took forever to extract the camera from my layers to get the shots in today!

The one good thing is that the poop freezes fast in the bags so I carry little frozen nuggets until I get to a litter bin, ha ha - there has to be some pluses to this chill! See you tomorrow, aroooooo!
