Well it's raining up to 1800m today, wet and warm, and that's fine by us! Great hike with my three friends Ever, Skipper and Billie-Jean from WAG.
Rainy Start
Plenty to drink!
We then headed into the forests, dark and creepy and I loved it! We sniffed about, wound through the trails, then had a short break in the trees where I had fun getting spooky dog shots!
into the forests...Top marks to Ever today...she was told to 'leave it!' regarding a stick - and she did first time! She was then asked again a little later on after stealing another stick off Billie...and she paused, looked at it, looked at me, spoke some rude words to me, flattened her paws to the ground and looked at me again...I repeated firmly, Ever....LEAVE it...she paused, then left it be! What a good girl, especially as Billie wanted it back right away. So pleased, and I think it worked the second time as I talked to her just as she opened her mouth to get it, managing to anticipate the actual grab...and that seemed to get her conscience! It was so funny (although I was working on keeping firm and calm, when really all I wanted to do was laugh) as Ever really seems to understand words and requests, and communicates very clearly back her opinion in the nearest thing to dog-English I think I have heard! No pictures, as focused on her...but definitely worth a mention :)
We then padded out of the forest and into the grey cloudy day of misty mountain tops...it was actually a great hike, rubber boots and Gore-Tex kept me dry, the dogs had a great roll around and play, and we made some good distance in yucky conditions under foot/paw. That's what rocks about dogs, they are stoked to be out whatever the weather! Bye for now, Aroooooo!
